Cases are handled on a selective basis, meaning that they are limited to those that I have become comfortable handling in my many years of experience. For example, I try to limit my practice to the following areas:

Divorce and family law—Assistance is provided to all clients in all areas of family law in both traditional and non-traditional situations, as well as civil unions. Services have been provided in the following areas:

  • Divorce
  • Civil Unions
  • Annulments
  • Parental rights and responsibilities
  • Spousal support/alimony
  • Parent-child contact
  • Paternity and adoptions

It is my goal to minimize the acrimonial nature associated with matrimonial matters, especially since the parents' conduct can have a devastating affect on the children.

Real estate—Real estate issues obviously involve both the purchase and sale of property and its attendant use. Buyers and sellers have been assisted with the preparation of documents used to transfer ownership, as well as documents utilized to obtain mortgage financing and title insurance. Other documents that we prepare typically are purchase and sale agreements. Often times zoning issues become paramount in the purchase of property. I have appeared with clients before the various Zoning Boards of Adjustment in this State in order to assist them in obtaining an appropriate zoning permit for the intended use of their property. I have also represented clients who have opposed the granting of a zoning variance on nearby properties which would adversely affect their use and enjoyment of their own property, as well as the value thereof.

Personal Injury—I have represented the individuals and their families who have been injured by negligence, carelessness or recklessness of others. Victims of personal injury are entitled to payment for their medical expenses and for other costs caused by the accident. They may also be entitled to receive payment for future expenses, pain and suffering, and hedonic expenses which are designed to compensate the injured party for loss of enjoyment of life. Personal injuries may arise from a variety of situations. Most commonly, they arise as a result of motor vehicle accidents. However, many personal injuries also arise from slip and fall cases, as well as other premises liability cases where the owner or occupant of a property has breached the standard of care in maintaining the premises and somebody has become injured as a result thereof. These cases can be quite complex and require the services of an attorney. I say this because insurance companies are much more aggressive in getting people to sign releases, convincing the injured person that their case is virtually worthless because he or she may have low medical expenses, and thereby foreclose the injured person from pursuing his or her claim any further. The fact that an injured person's medical bills may not be very high does not necessarily mean that the person who is injured will not have any permanent or ongoing injury down the road.

General Business—Just because your business doesn't employ hundreds of people or trade its stock on Wall Street doesn't mean your company wouldn't benefit from competent legal services. The small to mid-sized business has become the backbone of this country's economy and protecting your investment of time and hard work with good legal advice just makes sense. A good business attorney has a working knowledge of such issues as the distinctions between corporations, partnerships, LLCs and LLPs. He or she can help you with day-to-day issues arising over tax law, labor and employment, government regulations, contract law and debt collection law. Why guess at the right course of action when you can get legal advice and know better?

Regardless of how your need for legal services arises, my goal is to provide optimum service to all of my clients. I keep clients up-to-date on the progress of their cases throughout the process. Frequently legal matters take longer than expected and without communication, a client can wonder if he or she is really getting the attention they deserve. Whatever your problem, I will evaluate your case carefully to be able to guide you and counsel you effectively.

To find out what I can do for you, contact me today to set up an appointment. I will try to answer your questions and together we can decide the best course of action for you.
